Fall Book Sale
The annual book sale is managed by the library’s staff association with help from members of the Friends of the Library. Friends members are offered the opportunity to preview and shop the sale one evening before the sale opens to the public. Members wishing to donate books to the sale may drop them off at the circulation desk of the Perry Library in advance of the sale dates.

Recent events have featured authors Dan Ailey and James Zumwalt.
Outstanding Achievement Award
The Friends of the Library present an award each year at the Annual Author Dinner to a member of the university community who has consistently excelled through writing in his or her discipline for a span of years. The recipient in 2011 was Osama Kandil, Professor and Eminent Scholar of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Old Dominion University.
