Stay Safe Online! -- Today

Virginia Opera Guild Exhibit
January 30th, 2012“Celebrating the History of Virginia Opera” is now on display in the Library Art Gallery on the first floor of Patricia W. and J. Douglas Perry Library.
The exhibit contains posters, programs, costume and wig designs, photographs and fliers from the Virginia Opera Papers, housed in Special Collections and University Archives of the University Libraries. A chronological listing, from 1975 to the present day, of the Virginia Opera’s repertoire is also on display. The exhibit will be on display until February 13th, when it will move to the Harrison Opera House.

WilsonWeb databases now available through EBSCOhost
January 17th, 2012As you may know, many of our databases are available on the EBSCOhost system. Now there are even more since Ebsco purchased WilsonWeb databases.

These databases can be cross-searched with other EBSCO databases.
WilsonWeb will remain active until February 1, 2012, after which all Wilson databases will be exclusively available on the EBSCOhost platform.

January 14th, 2012This is a friendly reminder that materials due at the end of the Fall Semester (1/20/2012) must be renewed or returned to the library. You may renew items in any of the following ways:

- in person at the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor of Perry Library

Libraries closed on Monday, Jan. 16
January 13th, 2012In observance of the Martin Luther King holiday, the University Libraries will be closed on Monday, January 16.
The Perry Library and Learning Commons will close at midnight on Sunday, January 15 and will reopen on Tuesday, January 17 at 8am.
Library hours are available from the Hours and Information link on the library web site.
Update: SH-TL books now accessible
January 10th, 2012However.... because of continued construction and clean-up work on the 4th floor of Perry Library, books with call numbers from TL through Z remain inaccessible.
Until the clean-up is completed, you may consider one of the following options:
» Use Interlibrary Loan to request these materials. Arrival time usually ranges from 3-10 days.
» Find out if the book you need is available through a Virginia Tidewater Consortium (VTC) library. If it is, you can obtain a Consortium card at the 2nd floor Circulation Desk which allows you to check materials out from these local area libraries (faster than using interlibrary loan).
Please contact staff at the Learning Commons Help Desk or Circulation Desk for assistance.
Library hours -- We're Open
January 8th, 2012The water main is repaired, and the library is now open regular hours.
Regular Hours:
Learning Commons@Perry Library: open 24 hours from Sunday 9am through Friday 7:30pm; Saturday 9am-6pm.
Diehn Composers Room and Hofheimer Art Library: Monday-Thursday 8am-9pm; Friday 8am-5pm; Saturday-Sunday 1-5pm.
