Tree Trail exhibit through August 22
August 7th, 2012Did you know ODU had a Tree Trail? It's new! ODU’s “Tree Trail” provides an occasion to learn about thirty of the different varieties of trees on campus. Beginning at the Kaplan Orchid Conservatory, the trail meanders along the notable Quarantine Road and behind Webb Center, passes around the Engineering and Computational Sciences building and then around the pond of the Oceanography and Physics Buildings. Signage for each tree indicates common and scientific names and a brief description.
The ODU Libraries is recognizing and promoting the Tree Trail with an exhibit in the Learning Commons featuring photos, books, and some greenery. Come see the exhibit which runs through August 22 -- and be sure to walk the trail! A Website which complements the exhibit is also available.

Learn EndNote from a distance
August 2nd, 2012The library will be offering its first EndNote training session via Adobe Connect on Monday, August 6, 4-5:30pm. Learn how to collect references from the library’s databases and export them into EndNote, a powerful tool for organizing and managing bibliographic references. You will also learn how to import and format references in your Word document (Cite While You Write).
All you need is an Internet connection. On Monday at 4pm, go to http://connect.odu.edu/endnote and login in as a guest -- we'll meet you there. Contact Karen Vaughan - kvaughan@odu.edu or 683-4184 - to register, or for more information.
For instructions on installing and using EndNote, see the how-to guide for using EndNote on the library's website.
