October 3rd, 2012The University Libraries will undergo a system upgrade on Monday 10/8/12. This will be a significant upgrade scheduled to begin at approximately 11am EDT and is expected to last 6-8 hours.
During the system outage the following services will NOT be available:

During the system outage the following services WILL be available:

• Returns - any materials returned while the circulation system is down will be checked in with a return date of 10/8 once the system is restored. No fines will accrue on materials that are due on the 8th and returned while the circulation system is down.
• Libraries and Learning Commons Web sites, including full-text online journal resources (ScienceDirect, etc.), research databases and ILLiad interlibrary loan. Banned Books Week
October 3rd, 2012Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. It highlights the value of free and open access to information and brings together the entire book community -- librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types -- in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
Come to the Perry Library lobby to discover which of your childhood favorites and grown-up classics have been banned or challenged at some point in history. The exhibit, which also features posters from students in English 395: Banned Books, will be available through October 22.
