Christopher Lawton has joined the University Libraries as our new Science Reference Services Librarian. He has an M.S. in Library and Information Sciences from Syracuse University and a B.A. in Music with minors in Biology and English from Franklin Pierce University. While he was in library school he was the editor/blogger for the Hack Library School, a by-students, for-students blog focused on LIS education, and he served as a TA for multiple classes as well as being an administrative intern at Frederick County Public Library, Frederick, MD. He had several internships as well with the Capital Repertory Theater and Monadnock Music Festival while he was in his undergraduate program.

Mark your calendars and plan to attend the Friends of the Libraries 20th Annual Author Dinner which will feature guest speaker Dr. Steve A. Yetiv, the Louis I. Jaffe Professor of Political Science and International Studies at Old Dominion University.
The Friends of the Libraries Outstanding Achievement Award will be presented to Tim Seibles, Associate Professor of Creative Writing in the English Department of Old Dominion University.
