New education databases
February 9th, 2011The library has added two new databases:
EdITLib (Education & Information Technology Digital Library): provides access to peer-reviewed and published international journal articles and conference papers on the latest research, developments, and applications related to all aspects of Educational Technology and E-Learning. Sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education.
Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database : includes information about children's literature from over 38 quality review media including the ALAN Review, BookList, KIRKUS, National Science Teachers Association, and VOYA. Find books by subject, age level, genre, and much more. Includes Reading Measurement Programs (Lexile, AR, Scholastic Reading Counts), Curriculum Tools, and links to over 240,000 web pages featuring children's authors and illustrators.

Gulf Oil Crisis learning tool

"New" BIOSIS Previews and Zoological Record
October 1st, 2010BIOSIS Previews and Zoological Record are now available through Web of Science.
BIOSIS Previews is the premier database for life sciences and biomedical research. Through Web of Science, you can search current and backfiles (back to 1926) in one search. Zoological Record covers every aspect of zoology, with coverage back to 1978.

PsycINFO changes
September 20th, 2010In case you're used to using PsycINFO on the EBSCOhost system, and it's no longer there... don't worry! We still have PsycINFO, but as of September 1, our access is through APA PsycNET (American Psychological Association).
You'll find that searching PsycINFO through APA PsycNET is very similar to EBSCOhost.
Note: Through the end of September, we also have access to PsycCRITIQUES and PsycEXTRA, so be sure to try them out.
Criminal Justice Abstracts on EbscoHost
July 19th, 2010The Criminal Justice Abstracts database has now joined the over 40 databases the library offers through EBSCOhost. It was previously part of the CSA/Illumina system.
According to EBSCO, "Customers will notice an immediate increase in the number of records in these EBSCOhost versions of the databases. Criminal Justice Abstracts has more than 235,000 records as opposed to the current 103,600 records on other platforms."
Click here to access international journal articles, books, and governmental and non-governmental reports on a wide range of topics in criminal justice from 1968-present.
