Learn EndNote from a distance
August 2nd, 2012The library will be offering its first EndNote training session via Adobe Connect on Monday, August 6, 4-5:30pm. Learn how to collect references from the library’s databases and export them into EndNote, a powerful tool for organizing and managing bibliographic references. You will also learn how to import and format references in your Word document (Cite While You Write).
All you need is an Internet connection. On Monday at 4pm, go to http://connect.odu.edu/endnote and login in as a guest -- we'll meet you there. Contact Karen Vaughan - kvaughan@odu.edu or 683-4184 - to register, or for more information.

Workshop: Science & Engineering Databases
March 19th, 2012"Searching Databases in Sciences & Engineering," a workshop geared toward faculty and graduate research, will be held on Thursday, March 22, from 10:00 am–11:00 am in the Learning Commons Instruction Room 1306.
The University Libraries have access to many electronic databases in the sciences and engineering. This workshop will highlight some of the most popular and heavily used databases and describe new and improved features that allow you to gather more in-depth information in an efficient and effective manner.

EndNote Help
March 14th, 2012If you missed the all-day EndNote training sessions, you can still get help. EndNote offers video training, webinars, and they have a YouTube channel.
Go to http://www.endnote.com/training for many of your needs. Or, go to http://www.youtube.com/user/EndNoteTraining/videos for brief training on many EndNote features.
The Library also offers a page full of help. From the "Tutorials & How-tos" link, click "Use EndNote" under How-tos. We'll be offering another Grad/Faculty workshop on Saturday, April 7.
For undergraduate students, we have 3 EndNote Web workshops scheduled for March 27, 28, 29.

On Monday, March 12, Donna Kirking* will be in the Learning Commons Library Instruction Room 1306 teaching four in-depth training sessions on using EndNote.
