Update: SH-TL books now accessible
January 10th, 2012However.... because of continued construction and clean-up work on the 4th floor of Perry Library, books with call numbers from TL through Z remain inaccessible.
Until the clean-up is completed, you may consider one of the following options:
» Use Interlibrary Loan to request these materials. Arrival time usually ranges from 3-10 days.
» Find out if the book you need is available through a Virginia Tidewater Consortium (VTC) library. If it is, you can obtain a Consortium card at the 2nd floor Circulation Desk which allows you to check materials out from these local area libraries (faster than using interlibrary loan).
Please contact staff at the Learning Commons Help Desk or Circulation Desk for assistance.

Trouble finding the right database?
November 30th, 2011Try using a Subject Guide!! On the library's web site, click on the link to "Subject Guides" (under Research Assistance). Here you'll find research guides created by subject-specialist librarians that will get you quickly to the best resources for your subject area.
Categories of resources vary depending on the subject area, but may include “Find Articles Using Databases,” “Find Books and Dissertations,” “Statistics and Data,” “General Reference Sources.” Another useful feature is the chat service on each guide – if the subject specialist is online, you’ll be able to chat immediately.
