Library book sale this week
October 18th, 2010The library's Annual Used Booksale will be held Wednesday 11/3 through Thursday 11/4 from 9am - 7pm. A special Friends of the Libraries preview sale will be held on Tuesday 11/2 from 5-8pm. The book sale will be held on the 4th floor, rear of the Perry Library.
Note: We are accepting donations of books, magazines, DVDs and CDs at the 2nd floor Circulation Desk.

At that link, you'll also find hours for all three of the ODU Libraries, directions to the libraries, parking information, and more.
Fall break Library hours
October 8th, 2010The Perry Library will be open from 1pm until 8pm on Sunday, October 10 and from 8am until 6pm on Monday, October 11. The Library will be open normal hours on Tuesday, October 12.
The Diehn Composers Room and Hofheimer Art Libraries will be closed on Sunday, October 10 and open from 8am until 5pm on Monday, October 11. They will return to normal hours on Tuesday, October 12.
Lit Review in Education & Psychology
October 8th, 2010Thousands of journal articles, dissertations, government publications and other resources can be found online through various library online subscriptions services. Experience how to do a thorough literature review in psychology and education, using the library’s research databases.
Graduate students are encouraged to attend this workshop on Friday, October 15, from 2-3:30pm in the Perry Library 3rd floor Reference Room. (note: date/time change)

Library Website unavailable Friday night 10/8
October 7th, 2010The library's Website and online resources will be unavailable Friday evening October 8 at 7:30pm through Saturday morning. During this time, Dominion Power will be replacing our generator.
Friends of the ODU Libraries Fall Forum
October 5th, 2010Join the Friends of the ODU Libraries to hear Dan Ailey (aka Dr. Daniel Sonenshine, Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences) discuss his latest work, a science-fiction novel, Extinction ? The Ultimate Holocaust: The Plan to Eliminate Humanity. Refreshments will be available.
The forum will be held Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 12:00 noon. The location will be the University Village Book Store, 4417 Monarch Way. More information is located here.
33rd Annual Literary Festival

IOP Tribute to Nobel Physics Winners
October 3rd, 2010The 2010 Nobel Prize® for Physics has been awarded to Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov for their "groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene."

Virginia Tidewater Consortium
October 1st, 2010The Virginia Tidewater Consortium (VTC) for Higher Education is made up of the colleges and universities in the Tidewater area. ODU is part of this consortium.
The libraries of the VTC cooperate through a reciprocal borrowing program. ODU students, faculty and staff can borrow books from any of the VTC libraries. BUT, you need to have a consortium card. You may get this card from the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor of Perry Library.
