Be sure to visit two exhibits in the Diehn Fine & Performing Arts Building.
The Diehn Composers Room features “From Pen to Page to Stage: Tune Tones: Music in Animation.” Learn about the importance of music in animation... from award-winning animated features to transitional works that enjoyed success both in film and on Broadway to television animation that relied heavily on music. The Elise N. Hofheimer Art Library presents “Art in Motion,” an exhibit celebrating animation in its various forms and providing an overview of its history. This exhibit is available in the atrium of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center. (fmi, Jessica Ritchie jhritchi @ odu.edu)

Come visit the lobby of the Perry Library to view the interesting array of books selected by our student assistants. Student assistants are an integral part of the library staff. The library's Student Appreciation Month is April-May. In addition to a special luncheon, student assistants are also given the opportunity to select a book from our general collection and have a bookplate with their name placed permanently inside the front cover. The chosen books are on display in the lobby of Perry Library through the end of May. A special thank-you to each and every one of them.
Construction for the library's Learning Commons has begun. The parking lot directly in front of the Perry Library has been closed. An interim library entrance is being created on the west side of the library.
2nd floor renovation work has begun:
* Access to 2nd floor stacks from the atrium area is no longer available; use the back elevators or central stairwell.
* The microforms unit is still open and accessible.
* Access to the library administration office suite via the 2nd floor atrium is available.
If you have questions relating to 2nd floor access, contact Stuart Frazer email@example.com

Thanks to all who participated in our Snapshot Day on Tuesday, April 20. We received many good comments, some interesting video interviews, and great photos. Stay tuned for the results.
Library Snapshot day is an initiative of ALA that, “provides a way for libraries of all types across a state, region, system or community to show what happens in a single day in their libraries." How many books are checked out? How many people receive help with research? How do users feel about the library?
