Phase-out of Perry Library’s e-reserve program

This spring the University Libraries decided to end their electronic reserves program at the beginning of the fall semester on August 26, 2006. The faculty use of Blackboard for this purpose will provide additional network security for students and faculty and it will also be a more convenient method for distributing and receiving teaching materials. Faculty who have used this service since January, 2005 may pick up a cd of their reserve material to transfer to Blackboard at the Circulation Desk in the Perry Library.

Assistance with Blackboard can be obtained by contacting the Center for Learning Technologies. (ext. 3-3172) or going to the http://www.clt.odu.edu/bb/ address. You can easily and quickly scan documents into PDF by using the new photocopy/printer/scanner devices located in most departments. Instructions for scanning to PDF can be found at the http://occs.odu.edu/printing/copycentral/scantoemail.shtml address. The staff of the Digital Services Unit in Perry Library will also instruct faculty members and their graduate assistants to use the scanners in the Digital Services Center.
