Perry Library congratulates Old
Dominion University's Women's Center for 25 years of service
to women on campus and in the community. Each March the Women's Center
offers a variey of programs honoring women's contributions and achievements.
For a list of this year's events "A
Salute to Spirited Women" please visit their Web
site. You may also pick up copies of the Women's Center programs
at the library. In continuing the theme of women's health you may want
to attend the Women's Centers program "Women's Health Issues"
on March 27, 2002. The speaker for this event is Dr. Theresa Whibley
a popular local physician.
Perry Library congratulates WHRO
for sponsoring "Speaking of Women's
Health." Over the past two years, hundreds of women have
attended this wonderful series of day-long workshops, keynote sessions,
hands-on screenings and pampering. Corporate sponsors, local health
care professionals, WHRO and community volunteers make this a day where
each woman can focus on her special health needs. You can feel the power
in the room as women share their concerns and actively take charge of
improving their lives by learning more about health care issues. During
last year's event, Old Dominion University's Wendy Larry was honored
with a community service award. Please watch for information on WHRO's
Web site about this year's program to be held on October 24, 2002
at the Marriott Waterside.
