Women at ODU: Builders of Communities and Dreams -- WHM 2006

The national theme for Women's History Month 2006 is "Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams." The Old Dominion University Libraries wishes to honor many of the women at Old Dominion University who have contributed to a sense of community and have encouraged dreams in others. We want to honor the "spirit of possibility and hope" they have set in motion. An exhibit in the Perry Library lobby will be available through the month of March 2006. It consists of photos and news articles of the following:

Events of the 1970s when women's issues became a major concern for American society
Some of the women at ODU who have inspired others because of the positions they have acheived
The formation of the Women's Studies Department
The Women's Center activities and programs
Accomplishments of the University Women's Caucus
Highlights of the Women's Athletics program
