"We're The Book Guys!"  With this phrase the cheerful voice of Mike Cuthbert opens the public radio show The Book Guys each Thursday afternoon on WHRV-FM.  Mark your calendar, because Mike will be saying these words in Mills Godwin Auditorium at a special live radio taping of The Book Guys on Saturday, Febuary 10th, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.   Mike Cuthbert and Allan Stypeck will be offering appraisals of rare, old, and collectible books brought to them by you and other members of the audience.  Guests on the shows include Janet  Peery, Alf Mapp, Jr., Gordon Magnuson, and Douglas G. Greene.  This event is free and open to the public.

After the taping, current members of the Friends of the Library are invited to a members-only reception in room 151 of the Perry Library, where you will be able to meet personally with co-hosts Allan Stypeck, Mike C uthbert, and rare books expert Warren Wigutow.  You will have the opportunity to have them appraise a book or just talke with them about your collection.

Virginia writers Janet Peery and Alf Mapp, Jr. will be participants on the radio program , along with mystery book collector Gordon Magnuson.

Call to confirm that your Friends membership is current and to make your reservation for the reception (it's free!).
