Finding Online Reference Sources

From the Library's Web site, you will find a link to some general reference sources under the "Subject Guides" option.

Subject-specific reference sources can be found under topics in the "Subject Guides."
The library subscribes to some major collections of reference sources that are listed alphabetically under the "Find Databases A-Z" option. The major collections to look for are:
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library: over 50 encyclopedias and specialized reference sources, including "Wiley Encyclopedia of Telecommunications," "Gale Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine," "Encyclopedia of the Great Depression"
  • Sage Reference Online: nearly 50 reference books covering the social sciences and education, including "The Handbook of New Media," "Handbook of Workplace Diversity," "Encyclopedia of Global Warming and Climate Change," "Encyclopedia of Race, Ethnicity, and Society."
  • Oxford Reference Online: over 150 reference sources, including maps, dictionaries of all types, and subject-specific encyclopedias
