Information Literacy for Faculty -- Seminars

The University Libraries and Faculty Senate Committee A are offering two seminars about Information Literacy at ODU.  The intended audience consists of department chairs, program directors, and especially those faculty who will be teaching information literacy. 

The seminars will be held in Perry Library, Room 163, on Tuesday, March 16, 12:30-2:00 pm, and Thursday, March 18, 12:00-1:30 pm.

Agenda:

  • Welcome & opening remarks
  • Introduction to Information Literacy
    • What is it?; Why are we focused on it?; Standards, performance indicators, outcomes
  • Approaches to incorporating it in a course
    • Faculty will present their approaches and the library will showcase the modules project
  • Open Q&A
