Suspected Plagiarized Text on the Internet

 

  1. Look at the term paper, essay or poetry excerpts shown below.
  2. Notice suspicious text in red.
  3. Go to http://www.google.com and either type or cut & paste one of the sections of suspicious text into the Google search box.
  4. Enclose the string of words in quotation marks so that Google will search that exact phrasing.

Note: All text in red is indeed taken from a paper, report, essay, poem, etc. appearing on the Internet--some from original work by ODU faculty!

The cloned sheep Dolly has created a lot of controversy. On the one hand, there have been a number of researchers who have highlighted the way Dolly's development raises a series of interesting implications. Not because the technology is envisaged as being used to manufacture large numbers of genetically identical animals, but because the development of a technique allowing an animal to be produced from a cell of an adult animal (somatic cloning) - and hence Dolly - opens the way for gaining new basic scientific insight, inter alia into the ageing processes.
