That Collect Criminal Justice Statistics |
United States Dept. of Justice. Bureau of Justice
Statistics activities include:
- Interviewing citizens and households about any experiences they may
have had as crime victims
- Describing characteristics and consequences of criminal victimizations
- Analyzing operations of agencies, offices, courts, and institutions
that together comprise the justice system
- Counting populations and conducting sample surveys among those under
the care, custody, or control of criminal justice authorities
- Maintaining major data collection series from which it publishes and
distributes reports nationwide
United States. Federal Bureau of Investigation
activities include:
- Administering the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) system, a city, county,
and state law enforcement program which provides a nationwide view of
crime based on the submission of statistics by law enforcement agencies
throughout the country
United States. Centers for Disease Control &
Prevention activities include:
- Collecting data on crime related subjects including firearm injuries,
youth violence, suicide, etc.

Section activites include:
- Collecting and compiling data on reported crime in the Commonwealth
of Virginia
