How to access electronic journal collections

From the Library Web Site Tour, you will recall that the ODU Libraries Home Page, under Resources, has a link to the Journals, Magazines & Newspapers Locator.

From the listing on the Journals, Magazines & Newspapers page you can select among several online journal collections from publishers and professional societies. When you choose from the list, you will be automatically taken to the main page for the journal collection you have chosen. From the main page for the journal collection, you will be able to select a particular journal to browse by volume and issue, or you may be able to search across all the issues of a particular journal or the entire journal collection.

The most important full-text journal collections for nursing are:

  • Nursing & Health Sciences--a Sage Full Text Collection
  • Nursing & Medical Collection--LWW (from the publisher Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins)
  • Nursing Collection--Journals@Ovid
  • ScienceDirect (from the publisher Elsevier and its subsidiaries)
