III: FINDING BOOKS
Books are important in the field of nursing research. In the publishing cycle, it is rare but not unheard of for primary research to appear as a chapter in a book or or in an anthology of research on a particular topic. Books are more commonly a secondary source, and as such can offer a full, historical treatment of a topic or an overview of the research carried out. This overview usually comes with citations to the primary sources. Edited volumes, annual reviews, and textbooks are three types of book materials that you can find by using online library catalogs. In this lesson, you will learn:
B. How to obtain books at the ODU Library and elsewhere, including use of Interlibrary Loan C. How to use WorldCat to identify books at other libraries (includes Guided Search) |
