SECTION 4:  FINDING OTHER RESOURCES

C.  GOVERNMENT INFORMATION

Many government agencies produce and publish information useful to nursing research.  Among them are the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control, and Public Health Service.  State and local health-related departments are also important sources of information.

Statistics, census data, laws, and hearings are generated by the government.  Government agencies also issue grants to researchers who will publish original research in the form of technical reports (as mentioned in Section 1).

With many of these resources available online, you may access them from the ODU Libraries Home Page by clicking on Government Resources. Relevant government publications will also be included in databases such as CINAHL and searchable through Web search engines.
