B. INTERNET RESOURCES Subject Directories Internet subject directories are compiled and maintained by humans (sometimes, even librarians!) rather than by automation. They evaluate and select useful web sites to include in the directory. Subject directories are useful when you want to find general information about a subject. The Yahoo directory is probably the most familiar example of an Internet subject directory. It is arranged hierarchically by category:
