STARquest I: Library Services & Resources |
3b. How are materials grouped? |
Books that may be checked out are placed in an area separate from those books that are designated for reference use. Often, other types of resources--such as government publications, recordings, and periodicals--are kept separate also. Later in this tutorial, you will learn exactly where such specific sources can be found in the Old Dominion University Libraries. Keep in mind that many reference materials are not only in the library but also available on the Web. From the Resources section of the Old Dominion University Libraries Web page, you may take a look at the electronic or virtual reference collection (use the General reference sources link). |
