Practice in Finding Test Information
Answer the following questions:

1. What is the name of one published test that measures spatial ability in children?

[Use the Mental Mental Measurements Yearbook (SilverPlatter database).
Search for: spatial ability and children.
Check the information given about the test to make sure it scores what you are looking for.]

2. In the PsycINFO database (Ovid), find a journal article about a measure that screens adolescents for depression.

[In PsycINFO, enter <depression and adolescence> in search box.
Uncheck "map to subject heading" box.
Limit to English. Do search. Select LIMIT from top menu bar.
Then check "Tests and Measures" box. Redo search.]

3. Repeat search in question above in the ERIC (Ovid) database. Find one education journal and one document with information about a test that deals with adolescents and depression.

[Switch databases by the "Change Database" button at top of main search page in PsycINFO.
Repeat same search when prompted OR retype search (Remember to uncheck "map to subject"
button.) After the search is done, again select LIMIT from top menu button. Go to bottom of
Limit page; under Publication Types, highlight "Tests or Evaluation Instruments" and redo the search.]

4. Find a recent review of the Miller Analogies Test. What edition of the MMY is it in?

[Again, use Mental Measurements Yearbook. Enter name of test.]

5. Use the library online catalog to find books that deal with the assessment of depression in adolescents.

[Do keyword search for (adolescen* or youth) and depression and assessment.]
