Maryanne Wolf on "HearSay" with Cathy Lewis

Did you ever wonder how the brain learns to read?  Cathy talks to Dr. Maryanne Wolf, Director of the Center for Reading and Language Research at Tufts University. Her book, Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the Reading Brain explores the history and biology of how our reading brain works.  It also confronts the possibility that reading as we have always known it may, with modern technology -from television to the internet- change to soon make traditional books a thing of the past.

Click here to listen to the broadcast online at noon, Tuesday, February 19.

The Friends of the Old Dominion University Libraries will also be hosting a lecture by Dr. Wolf this evening.

Tuesday, February 19, at 7:00 p.m.
