Job Description
This position provides informational, reference and research level assistance to the university community, especially in the health sciences areas. Provides library instruction on library use, information literacy and research skills development, primarily in the health science college, responsible for developing outreach programs that promote awareness of library services and collections, responsible for reference and general collection development especially in health sciences. Participates in library, departmental and university committees, projects, research, task forces as appropriate. Position includes collaboration with health science faculty and library team participation.
Minimum Qualifications
ALA-accredited MLS degree; library reference experience; proficiency in the use of reference resources and databases; demonstrated skills in teaching; working knowledge of a wide variety of information technology applications; excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; successful experience working in a team environment with both professional and support staff; analytical skills including independent problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills; demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in teaching; experience in an academic library; experience with Web-based communications tools such as blogs, wikis, IM, RSS, and web / mobile social networks; experience or coursework in health sciences librarianship; experience with information literacy programs; experience in collection development; experience with learning commons services.
Conditions of Employment
Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Minimum: $55,000.
