LIBNEWS-L: New Resources and Services at Old Dominion University Libraries April 26, 2005 * Extended Library Hours for Exam Week * Exhibit Honors John Duffy ==> EXTENDED LIBRARY HOURS FOR EXAM WEEK The Perry Library will be open the following hours during finals week: Wednesday - Thursday, April 27-28: 8am - 2am Friday, April 29: 8am - 9:30pm Saturday, April 30: 9am - 9:30pm Sunday, May 1: 9am - 2am Monday-Tuesday, May 2-3: 8am - 2am Wednesday-Friday, May 4-6: Regular Hours Saturday-Sunday, May 7-8: CLOSED During the extended hours, the first floor, circulation services, and reference resources will be available for patron use until the building closes. Reference Desk, Microforms, and Interlibrary Loan will close as scheduled. For the 9:30pm closings, the upper floors will not be available for patron use. Circulation staff will be available to retrieve materials from the general collection upon patron request from 7:30-9:30pm. For the 2am closings, the upper floors and retrieval of materials will not be available from midnight-2am. Public Safety will be available to provide escort service during all extended hours. ==> EXHIBIT HONORS JOHN DUFFY Old Dominion University Libraries and the Virginia Arts Festival 2005 are sponsoring an exhibit highlighting John Duffy, a two-time Emmy-winner who has composed more than 300 works for symphony orchestra, opera, theater, television and film. "John Duffy: a Living Inspiration," emphasizes the composer’s life from his own earliest inspirations to his greatest achievements including his own comments on art in relation to politics and censorship. The print exhibit will be available for public viewing in the Reading Room of the Diehn Composers Room from April 25-June 10, 2005. The exhibit and institute events are made possible by the Virginia Arts Festival and a grant from the F. Ludwig Diehn Music Fund of the Norfolk Foundation.
