The drive is being held today (Tuesday, September 6) from 9-3 p.m. on the 4th floor of Perry Library. All students, staff and faculty are encouraged to donate. The donation process takes about one hour. ==> SURF & TURF SESSIONS BEGIN THIS WEEK Surf: introduction to online search techniques Tuesdays, September 6, 13 and 20 (2005) Turf: tour of the Library Thursdays, September 8 and 22 (2005) Surf & Turf sessions are offered to Old Dominion University faculty, staff, and students. These brief sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. There is no need to register; interested persons should come to the lobby and meet the librarian in front of the poster advertising the session. These sessions are intended for interested individuals, not whole classes. ==> WORKSHOP FOR GRADUATE ASSISTANTS: ESSENTIAL LIBRARY SERVICES -- WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 If you're a graduate research or teaching assistant and missed the workshop Saturday, be sure to come to the library tomorrow (Wednesday, September 7) from 10-11:30am in Room 163. The workshop will cover how to take advantage of important library services, including how to: obtain materials requested by your professor, obtain materials not owned by the library, charge copying to the department or to grants, borrow materials in your professor's name, place material on course reserve, contact the library for the help you need. Please indicate your department when registering. ==> NEW PROJECT MUSE TITLE: AFRICAN STUDIES REVIEW "African Studies Review," a multi-disciplinary scholarly journal, publishes original research and analyses of Africa and book reviews three times annually. It encourages scholarly debates across disciplines. The editing of the African Studies Review is supported by Five Colleges, Inc., a consortium representing Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts.
