==>  EBSCOHOST DATABASES

CINAHL, ERIC, and PsycINFO are now available through EBSCOHost. The new
interface contains links to full-text articles from thousands of research
publications, basic and advanced search options, and subject term
suggestions.  You may also still search and browse CINAHL headings and the
thesauri from ERIC and PsycINFO. EBSCOHost also offers several new features
including more limiting options available from the main search screens and
a cited reference search.

Access EBSCOHost databases from the "Databases" option on the library's Web
site.  Select the databases by title or subject category.  Because
EBSCOHost is available through the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA), IP
address restrictions apply: from off campus, you'll need to enter your
Campus UIN at the Easy Proxy page.

==>  EBSCOHOST TRAINING: SEPT. 14 & 20

To learn more about searching EBSCOHost databases, come to a 30-minute
database workshop for faculty, staff and
graduate students.  Sessions are available on Wednesday Sept. 14 and
Wednesday Sept. 20, both at 2:00 PM in Perry Library, Room 163.
Reservations, though not mandatory, are very helpful to us in planning. To

==>  SURF & TURF SESSIONS

     Surf: introduction to online search techniques
          Tuesdays, September 13
     Turf: tour of the Library
          Thursday, September 22

Surf & Turf sessions are offered to Old Dominion University faculty, staff,
and students.  These brief sessions begin at 12:30 p.m.  There is no need
to register; interested persons should come to the lobby and meet the
librarian in front of the poster advertising the session. These sessions
are intended for interested individuals, not whole classes.


==> NEW PSYCARTICLES TITLE:  JOURNAL OF INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

"Journal of Individual Differences" has been added to PsycARTICLES.  This
journal, published by Hogrefe and Huber, publishes articles dealing with
individual differences (e.g. gender, temperament, personality,
intelligence) in behavior, emotion, cognition and their developmental
aspects.  Researchers on both humans and animals use this information in
their assessments.

To access this title, search the library's "Journals, Magazines,
Newspapers" page by title. Because PsycARTICLES is available through the
Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA), IP address restrictions apply: from off
