With specific focus on the ODU chapters of the “Divine Nine,” as well as an emphasis on other campus African American civic and social organizations, such as the Hugo A. Owens Multicultural Center, this year’s exhibit enhances knowledge about the Old Dominion University African American fraternal, social, and civic communities in conjunction with the University’s ongoing 75th anniversary celebration. It has appeared in print annually since 1977 and is currently sponsored by North Carolina State University. It has traditionally published comparative work involving literary and cultural movements, literature and the arts, relations between European and non-European literatures, and inter-American literary exchanges. More recently the journal has also focused on the third world, Afro-Caribbean, and Central European literary phenomena. Each issue features eight to ten articles clustered around major comparative-thematic topics, such as "Theoretical Dialogues," "Post-Colonial Perspectives," "Comparative Poetics," or "Eastern-Western Relationships." A substantial review section evaluates important theoretical and practical concerns involving cross-cultural study. As a forum for literary comparatists, the journal encourages a stimulating interplay or intertextual and comparative methods, of theoretical-historical analysis, and of critical interpretation. To access this and other Project Muse journals, click "Project Muse" on the library's "Journals, Magazines, Newspapers" page or search by individual journal title. Because Project Muse is available through the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA), IP address restrictions apply: from off campus, you'll need to enter your Campus UIN at the Easy Proxy page. ----------------------------------------- ==> TAX FORMS AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY Tax forms and instructions are available electronically from the following Web sites: Federal: http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/formspubs/index.html Virginia: http://www.tax.state.va.us/site.cfm?alias=DownloadForms The Perry Library no longer receives print copies. ------------------------------ Next Issue: February 7, 2006 ------------------------------- Find the Libnews-L archives at: http://www.lib.odu.edu/libinfo/publications/libnews
