This database contains over 230 full text titles, and 650,000 records with journal and monograph coverage going back to 1800. Allows a maximum of 4 users at a time. Access SPORTDiscus from the library's "Databases" page by title or under the subject "Education." Because SPORTDiscus is available through library subscription, IP address restrictions apply: from home, you'll need to enter your Campus UIN at the Easy Proxy page. ---------------------------------------------------------- ==> BLACKBOARD TO REPLACE ELECTRONIC RESERVES SERVICE AT THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES With the implementation of Blackboard Academic Suite by University faculty and instructors, the University Libraries will end their electronic reserves program at the beginning of the fall semester, August 26, 2006. Blackboard offers a wide selection of course management options to faculty to implement at their convenience, including the ability to post materials and handouts. The move will also aid in the consolidation of course-specific materials and heighten copyright compliance by limiting access to material only to students enrolled in a particular course. The staff of the Digital Services Center in Perry Library will assist faculty members and their graduate assistants with scanning and other issues that may arise in making the transition from library-based e-reserves to the Blackboard environment. Faculty are encouraged to make a direct link to the library homepage from each course page. The move to Blackboard will not have any effect on the reserve book collection and operation in Perry Library. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Wayne Burton, Head of Access Services at 3-4174 or e-mail your questions and comments to wburton@odu.edu ------------------------------- Next Issue: April 25, 2006 ------------------------------- Find the Libnews-L archives at: http://www.lib.odu.edu/libinfo/publications/libnews
