The exhibit includes examples of printed music from the 17th through 19th centuries to illustrate the use of wood block, copper engraving and lithography in music printing.  Through oral histories and sketchbooks, several composers, including Professor Allan Blank and Old Dominion University Professor Adolphus Hailstork, communicate their ideas on creating music.  The exhibit also demonstrates a basic step-by-step process to getting published and getting paid. Be sure to visit the exhibit which will be available for public viewing at the Diehn Composers Room, 189 Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center, through November 30, 2006.  An online exhibit is also available at: http://www.lib.odu.edu/musiclib/exhibits/art_business/ .  The Diehn Composers Room is open from 8am until 5pm, Monday through Friday. For more information, please contact Dr. Jay E. Moore at jemoore@odu.edu or call 683-4175. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==> BOOK SALE DONATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR ANNUAL BOOK SALE NOVEMBER 1-4 Donations of books, magazines, audio/videotapes, and compact discs are being accepted at the Circulation Desk in Perry Library through Friday, October 27.
