==>  REFERENCE USA ON TRIAL THROUGH DECEMBER

Reference USA contains detailed information on more than 13 million US
businesses, 120 million US households, and 683,000 US health care
providers.  There is also information for 1 million Canadian businesses, 11
million Canadian residents, and 3 million international businesses.  Access
this databases from the library's Databases page, and try it out during the
month of December.  Please give your feedback to Steve Litherland
slitherl@odu.edu.

A few other databases are still on trial:

   * CQ Research/CQWeekly Trial (through December 9)

==> EXTENDED LIBRARY HOURS FOR EXAM WEEK:  12/8 - 12/17

Library hours during exam week have been extended as follows:
   * Friday, December 8:  8am - 9:30pm
   * Saturday, December 9:  9am - 9:30pm
   * Sunday, December 10: 9am - 2am
   * Monday, December 11 - Thursday, December 14:  8am - 2am
   * Friday, December 15 - Saturday, December 16 -- Regular hours
   * Sunday, December 17:  Closed (Commencement)

During the extended hours, the first floor, circulation services, and
reference resources will be available for patron use until the building
closes.  Reference Desk, Microforms, and Interlibrary Loan will close as
scheduled.

For the 9:30pm closings, the upper floors will not be available for patron
use.  Circulation staff will be available to retrieve materials from the
general collection upon patron request from 7:30-9:30pm.  For the 2am
closings, the upper floors and retrieval of materials will not be available
from midnight-2am.

Public Safety will be available to provide escort service during all
extended hours.

==> HOLIDAY LIBRARY HOURS:  12/18 - JANUARY 2006

Library hours for the holidays will be as follows:

  Monday, December 18 - Wednesday, December 20: 8am-5pm
  Thursday, December 21: 8am-noon
  Friday, December 22 - Tuesday, December 26: CLOSED
  Wednesday, December 27 - Thursday, December 28: 9am-6pm
    (Circulation and Reference open; other departments closed)
  Friday, December 29 - Tuesday, January 2:  CLOSED
  Wednesday, January 3 - Friday, January 5:  8am-5pm
  Saturday, January 6 - Sunday, January 14:  Regular Hours
  Monday, January 15:  Closed (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

Branch libraries and certain library units will have different hours and/or
limited services. Please call ahead for information: 683-4154.  For
