LIBNEWS-L: New Resources and Services at Old Dominion University Libraries March 25, 2008 * New Faces at the Library * Workshop for Graduate Students: "Doing a Literature Review" - March 29 * Workshop for Faculty: "Who's Citing You -- And Where? * Friends of the Libraries 14th Annual Author Dinner -- April 8 ----------------------------- ==> NEW FACES AT THE LIBRARY * Miriam Bridges, our new Business Reference Librarian, comes to us from George Mason University Libraries where she was a Reference Library Assistant. She has previously worked at the Prince William County Library and the College of the Albermarle Library. Miriam has her M.L.S. from the University of Maryland, her Masters of Labor and Human Resource Management from Ohio State University, and her B.A. in Political Science from Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, NC. * Sarah Davis is the new Diehn Composer's Room Supervisor. Sarah has a BA in music from East Carolina University, with a double major: music education and voice performance. For the past three years she has worked in the music library at ECU. Sarah is a pianist and vocalist, has performed in a variety of operas and choral events, and has experience with digital music technology. * Judy Trump, our new Social Sciences Reference Librarian, comes to us most recently from Georgetown University where she was the Head of the Government Documents and Microforms Department. She has also volunteered as a Reference Librarian at the Newport News Public Library system, Main Street Branch. Judy has her BA in French from Albright College and her MLS from the Catholic University of America. * Edward Wladas is our new Science Reference Librarian. He comes to us most recently from Princeton University where he was the Engineering Librarian and Head of the Engineering Library. Previously Edward had worked as a librarian for Bechtel Corporation, Dynamic Information Corporation, Information on Demand, and the John Crerar Library. Edward has his M.L.S. from Rosary College and his B.S. in Mathematics from Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL. It will be held in Perry Library Room 163 from 10-11:30am.
