By the time you read this, it should be possible to print from Internet resources and various other databases to a central printer located at the circulation desk in the first floor lobby.
This arrangement will have several advantages:
The library will keep you informed about any changes pertaining to this service.
The anticipated completion date for construction of the new 6,000 square foot F. Ludwig Diehn Composers Room and Listening Library is March 27, 1997.
This addition to the Diehn Fine & Performing Arts Building will have a reading room for music manuscripts and special collections as well as a listening library for assignments, research and recreation.

All Old Dominion University students, faculty and staff may apply for privileges at all other libraries that belong to the Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education.
The first step is to come to our circulation desk to apply for a free consortium borrower's card, which is valid for the current semester.
This card enables you to apply for privileges at any of the member libraries you visit; privileges vary from library to library.
We suggest that you telephone the library you plan to visit, identify yourself as a consortium borrower, and request specific information about possible fees and kinds of privileges.
For more information on this reciprocal borrowing program, telephone the University Library Circulation Department at 683-4154.
If the cost of gas had risen as fast as academic library materials (in the last 15 years), it would now cost $2.66 a gallon to put fuel in your car.
Sandra Beehler began her appointment as Acquisitions and Preservation Librarian on February 1. She holds the MLS degree from Indiana University and comes to us from the Cornell Law Library. Previously she worked for Northeastern University and Harvard University libraries.
Now available through InfoTrac SearchBank and provided by the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA), Books in Print provides current detailed information on more than 2.6 million titles: author, ISBN, price, publisher, language and much more.
You can reach Books in Print from the library web site at http://www.lib.odu.edu. Just click on Electronic Research Tools and look under Indexes and Abstracts. Off-campus users can telnet to iii.lib.odu.edu or dial up the library catalog and databases at 683-3110, -5090, -5091, or -5025.
Two World-Wide-Web workshops for faculty and three for students have been held so far in 1997. Look for announcements of additional workshops listed on our web site, http://www.lib.odu.edu. Just click on Learning to Use the Library.
Our new list of searchable databases is available under Electronic Research Tools from our home page on the World-Wide-Web, at http://www.lib.odu.edu.
This comprehensive list includes not only the Internet resources you can search from your home or office but also those CD-ROM databases available in the library.
You may select a database by title (if you know it), by broad subject category, such as Business and Economics or Health, Medicine, and Nursing, or by the name of the supplier (FirstSearch, InfoTrac, SilverPlatter, etc.). You'll be amazed at the hundreds of databases now available.
