Borrowing Privileges

Virginia Tidewater Consortium Borrowing CardsThe Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education (VTC) serves as the major vehicle for regional cooperation among institutions of higher education and affiliated agencies. Since 1973 consortium institution libraries have provided reciprocal borrowing privileges to students, faculty and staff of member institutions. Persons affiliated with other VTC schools who wish to borrow from ODU Libraries must first obtain a VTC card from their home institution. A list of participating institutions is available on the VTC Web site. The site also provides details regarding borrowing policies governing VTC library patrons. ODU students, faculty and staff may borrow materials from participating VTC member libraries by obtaining a Virginia Tidewater Consortium (VTC) library card at the Perry Library Circulation Desk. VTC cards are issued to ODU patrons who present a valid ODU School ID card, and who have no overdue books, outstanding debts to the library, the university or to other VTC institutions. VTC cards are renewable each semester.
