Renewals, Holds and Recalls
You may renew most materials in-person or online by the following methods:

ODU students, faculty and staff may recall materials currently checked out to another library user. Use the 'Place a hold' option in the Library Catalog, or contact Circulation Services for more information.
Book retrieval services
The library does not offer book retrieval (paging) services. However, distance learners, those with special needs, and some other members of the university community are eligible for retrieval or document delivery services. Contact the Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery Services Unit for details:
Items missing from the shelf
If our catalog says an item is “available” but you do not find it on the shelf you may place a search request at the Perry Library Circulation Desk. Library staff will search for the book and notify you if it is found. You may place an interlibrary loan request for the item when you request the search, provided it is not a required ODU textbook.
