Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a free service that allows you to request journal articles, books, and other needed research materials that are not available at ODU.

The Interlibrary Loan office is located on the first floor of Perry Library. Office hours are:

• 8am-8pm Monday - Thursday
• 8am-6pm Friday

After hours and on weekends, items can be picked up and returned at the circulation desk

Dissertation Express

This program, a joint project of the University Libraries and UMI, gives you the option of buying printed copies of dissertations quickly and economically, rather than borrowing them (usually on microfilm) through Interlibrary Loan. 

With Dissertation Express you get your own copy of the dissertation, to keep and annotate as you wish. These are the parameters: 

Digitally printed, shrink-wrapped 8-1/2"x11" unbound copies 

$33.00 per dissertation, prepaid (30% off regular price) 

Delivery to the library via express carrier within 3-4 days 

Dissertation Express orders can be placed through the Interlibrary Loan Office. (For those who prefer to borrow, the Library will continue to make dissertation copies available on loan from other institutions.) 

A Dissertation Express Form must be printed out, completed, and returned or mailed to the Interlibrary Loan Services Office on the 1st floor of Perry Library.
