Ude
Wayne Ude is the author
of Buffalo and Other Stories, and of Becoming Coyote,
a novel, and of the limited edition Three Coyote Tales, illustrated
by Abigail Rorer. His children's book, Maybe I Will Do Something:
Seven Coyote Tales, is due out next Spring from Houghton Mifflin.
Mr. Ude's stories have appeared in Ploughshares, North American
Review, and many other magazines. He is currently working on a second
children's book, and on a long novel for adults. Since 1987, he has
taught creative writing at Old Dominion University. Next summer he will
end seventeen years of teaching creative writing and move to Whidbey
Island, near Seattle, Washington, where he and his wife will build a
