Michael S. Harper teaches at Brown University, He is the editor of Heartblow: Black Veils, an anthology of black poetry. His own volumes of poetry, include Dear John, Dear Coltraine, Debridgement, Song: I Want a Witness, History as Apple Tree, History is Your Own Heartbeat, Nightmare Begins Responsibility, and Images of Kin.
