William Matthews teaches creative writing at the University of Washington. He co-founded Lillabulero Press and edited its literary magazine Lillabulero. His books include the poetry collections Broken Syllables, Ruining the New Road, The Cloud, Sleek for the Long Flight, Without a Mouth, An Oar in the Old Water, Sticks and Stones, and Rising and Falling, a book of translations.
