PANEL, 'HOW SHOULD LITERATURE INSPIRE?',
THURSDAY AT LITERARY FESTIVAL


The 1999 Old Dominion University Literary Festival, titled "The Spirit of the Word," continues today with readings and a panel discussion "How Should Literature Inspire?" The festival runs Oct. 11-15 and includes appearances by former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner Rita Dove.

Today's events include:
11 a.m., Richard Chess, Cape Charles/Isle of Wight Room, Webb University Center;
2 p.m., writer in residence Margaret Gibson, Chesapeake/Portsmouth/Virginia Beach Room, Webb University Center;
4 p.m., Panel: "How Should Literature Inspire?", writers Richard Chess, Gibson, Debra Monroe with moderator Phil Raisor, Chesapeake/Portsmouth/Virginia Beach Room, Webb University Center.
8 p.m., reading will be given by fiction writer Debra Monroe.
