Luisa Igloria

Luisa Igloria is an associate professor at Old Dominion University, where she teaches poetry and nonfiction in the Creative Writing program as well as courses in Filipino and Filipino American literature, Asian American literature, postcolonial and women's studies. She is a poet, essayist, and fictionist, and has published five books including Songs for the Beginning of the Millennium, Blood Sacrifice, which received the 1996 National Book Award for Poetry in the Philippines; and In the Garden of the Three Islands. Awards include 11 Carlos Palanca Awards for Literature. Her work has appeared in numerous anthologies and international and national journals of poetry.
