ETHAN CANIN
Ethan Canin is the
author of six books of fiction, including the story collections Emperor
of the Air, and The Palace Thief, and the novel Carry Me Across the Water.
He has been called by the New Yorker one of “twenty writers for
the new millennium.” Canin’s widely anthologized short stories
have appeared in the New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, Esquire, The Paris
Review, and many other magazines, and have also been the basis for several
Hollywood movies. A graduate of Harvard Medical School and a licensed
physician, Canin gave up medicine a decade ago to become a professor at
the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, in Iowa City, Iowa.
