Provenance
The Hampton University Composers Collection was assembled in the Diehn
Composers Room in 1999 following a concert and exhibit co-sponsored
by Old Dominion University Libraries and the Harvey Library of Hampton
University. The concert and exhibit featured the works of Hampton University
composers in the 20th Century, and was funded by a generous grant from
the Norfolk Foundation.
Access and Borrrowing Materials
The collection is available for research in the Diehn Composers Room only. These materials are not available for borrowing or photocopying. Some duplicate scores are cataloged and shelved in the circulating collection of the Diehn Composers Room. To search the online catalog of the Old Dominion University Libraries, click here.
Old Dominion University Libraries and Hampton University's Harvey Library
co-sponsored a concert and exhibit of Hampton University Composers of
the twentieth century. The concert was at ODU in Chandler Hall on September
19, 1999 and at Hampton University in the Harvey Library Meeting Room
on October 17, 1999. The exhibit was displayed at ODU from September
19 to October 1 and at Hampton University from October 17 to November
1. As part of the event, the Diehn Composers Room presented an online
exhibit, entitled "From Exposition to Development: The Legacy of
