Philip Glass was born in 1937. He attended the University of Chicago and the Julliard School and has become a leading American composer and performer of contemporary avant-garde music. He is the creator of numerous film scores and is involved in touring projects throughout the world. Mr. Glass was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Original Score for Kundun (1998) and The Hours (2003). He is the author of Music by Philip Glass.
The Philip Glass Event Collection contains two boxes of Diehn Composers Room exhibit material (exhibit artifacts, invitations, publicity, music catalog, film posters, and a photo disc) and the recording, Philip Glass: A Compilation.
