Provenance
The Philip Glass Event Collection was assembled in the Diehn Composers
Room in 2003 following a lecture sponsored by the Virginia Arts Festival
and an exhibit sponsored by the Old Dominion University Libraries. The
exhibit featured the recordings, scores, film posters and memorabilia
of pre-eminent American composer Philip Glass. Both events were funded
by a grant from the Norfolk Foundation.
Access and Borrrowing Materials
The collection is available for research in the Diehn
Composers Room only. These materials are not available for borrowing
or photocopying. Some composers' duplicate scores are cataloged and
shelved in the circulating collection of the Diehn Composers Room. To

was on display in the Diehn Composers Room and the Diehn Fine and Performing
Arts Center Atrium from March 31 to May 27, 2003. The Virginia Arts
Festival sponsored a lecture by Philip Glass entitled "Music and
the Moving Image: A Conversation with Philip Glass." The lecture
was held at ODU in Chandler Hall on April 27, 2003. The Diehn Composers
