New Music Performance Collection
Borrowing Materials

Scores may be borrowed by music faculty affiliated with U.S. institutions of higher education and by members of professional music organizations who have registered with the Diehn Composers Room. This collection of professional level scores will be of special interest to those who wish to provide opportunities for their student groups to perform new music. In most cases, students will have the opportunity to work directly with the composer.

An online form must be completed in order to request loans. A limit of 10 scores per user may be borrowed at one time. The online forms are processed though the Old Dominion University Libraries Interlibrary Loan Services. All efforts will be made to process requests within a 48-hour time period of receiving the request. All requests received during the weekends will be processed the following Monday. Requestors will be e-mailed informing them that their request has been processed and the materials have been shipped via UPS.

Loans to other members of the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA) will be for 8 weeks, and, according to VIVA resource sharing guidelines, no fines will be charged. Non-VIVA borrowers may borrow scores for a period of 8 weeks, and fines of $1.00 per day per item accrue if the material is overdue. Replacement cost for lost items is $60.00 per item. Borrowed material is generally not renewable and should be returned to the Diehn Composers Room, via UPS, by the indicated due-date.
