What do I do if ODU doesn't own the book or article I need?

Definitely consider using our Interlibrary Loan Service.

Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL) facilitates your research by obtaining from other libraries the books and journal articles not available in our collection. Most journal articles can be delivered to you electronically in just a few days. Many book requests can be filled in two weeks or less.

ILL services are available to all on-campus and off-campus ODU faculty, staff and students. A current library registration and a valid ODU UIN are required of all users to place requests electronically.

Before submitting your ILL request, please check the library's catalog to determine that the material is not owned by the ODU Libraries.

The Interlibrary Loan office is located on the first floor of Perry Library. The telephone number is 757-683-4170
