How do I find image, sound or other media files?
Search commands are different in each search engine. The search engines such as AltaVista and Google tend to give you more options. Always check the help screen for the search engine's commands. You may need to check under "advanced searching" or "search tips" to find them.
Here are some useful commands from AltaVista
image:filename |
Searches for web pages with images under a specific filename. Upper and lower case are important in using this command. |

Use to find pages with images called jupiter |
domain:domainname |
Searches for Web pages within a specified domain |
domain:edu |
Use to find pages from educational institutions |
url:anynameinurl |
Searches for Web pages with a specific word or phrase in the URL. |

Use to find all the times the word odu is used somewhere within the URL on a server |
